About the Role
An exciting and unique opportunity to accelerate your Structural career. AllRock is a fast growing Geotechnical/Materials/Environmental Engineering firm that is branching out into Structural Engineering and looking for a talented Structural Engineering Team Lead to join our multidisciplinary team of professionals. This is a unique opportunity to deliver Structural Engineering services on a wide variety of exciting projects. We are looking for a candidate to be in a permanent full-time position in Ottawa.
Requirements
Responsibilities include:
Creating proposals and budgets.
Participating in meetings.
Interacting with clients and team members.
Negotiating and managing budgets, schedules and resources.
Management of structural engineering department, including management of employees and technical work.
Planning and managing large scale, complex construction projects.
Assist with task, project and contract proposals.
Prepare engineering calculations and prepare technical reports.
Guide technical staff designing transportation structures and developing contract documents.
Provide technical direction and guidance to junior staff, as well as hands-on design, as needed.
Perform field-related work including structure condition inspections, site visits, and field inventories.
Ensure projects adhere to company quality control program and safety standards.
Development of contract documents, including quality control reviews.
Completing tasks within schedule and budget to the satisfaction of our public and private clients.
The Employee will ensure the Companies safety program and policies are being followed by themselves and other employees. The Employee will ensure that they are adequately trained and are comfortable completing each task safely.
Collaborating with various AllRock staff to best serve the needs of our diverse client base.
Qualifications include:
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Structural Engineering.
License, insurance and a personal vehicle is required.
5+ years plus of relevant work experience.
Eligible for federal security clearance.
Flexibility to travel periodically.
Experience and Skills:
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Exceptional organizational skills.
Data compilation and technical report writing.
Work in both a self-lead and team environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
Experience with invoicing, budgeting, and other areas of project related management would be considered an asset.
Auto-CAD or related experience would be considered an asset.
