About the Role
AllRock is a fast growing Geotechnical/Materials Engineering firm that is looking for a hard-working Lead Civil Technician for material testing. This is a unique opportunity to deliver quality services on the Marathon Gold Project.
Requirements
Your Key Responsibilities
The successful candidates will demonstrate initiative and will excel under minimal supervision. You will be comfortable in a fast-paced environment and skilled in delivering on your commitments. You will work with a team of engineers and other technologists/technicians performing general, Geotechnical and Materials testing and inspection responsibilities. In brief, duties include but are not limited to:
Collection of samples, obtain field data
Conduct a full range of field material testing
On-site material inspection
Construction Quality control/Quality assurance
Observe contractor activity
Other general field related duties
Reporting: You will be required to regularly complete detailed field reports and submit them to the Project Manager.
Manage all day-to-day activity with your team, as employees will report directly to you.
Be the main point of contact between client/Contractor and Management
Responsible for completing technical reports and issuing them to our clients daily.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
We are looking for an energetic team player who enjoy working with a team of engineering staff in providing superior service to our valued clients. The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Effective communications skills (computer, written, oral)
Consulting or related experience
Direct experience in a similar role would be considered an asset
Ability to work with minimum supervision
Demonstrate initiative and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Work on construction sites
Valid Driver’s License (Class 5) and access to their own personal vehicle
Valid insurance policy to transport nuclear compaction testing equipment
The ability to carry out moderate lifting and to traverse uneven ground will be required.
The ability to lead a team of 5 employees.
Education and Experience
Technical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum 5+ years in Laboratory and Field Testing.
